From Visions on the Nature of God and His Mercy

God possesses all good attributes, and every attribute is transcendent. Just as humans have a body, will, and spirit, so does God have 3 complimentary parts. God's method of creation is to set up rules for the universe to function, so living things evolve. Complex life forms have minds of their own. Fractals and prime numbers are everywhere in nature. Humans are not the only loved creatures. But humans are stewards of the others. Gravity and entropy and the laws of thermodynamics are some of the rules of creation. The more intelligent life becomes, the more it attempts to imitate its creator. It learns the laws of creation and tries to embody the virtues that make the creator good. Since knowledge and virtue are the actionable differences between man and God, pursuing knowledge and virtue is an act of worship. Because God's mercy is transcendent, it is logical that everyone will be forgiven eventually. Everything God created is predictable and consistent, why would the afterlife be any different?

God's mercy and love for us is as transcendent as His other attributes. This is the logical basis for the idea of Apokatastasis. In the Bible, we see the Children of Israel repeatedly make mistakes and errors in judgement. Yet, when they repent, they are brought back into God's embrace. Over and over. He never gives up on them. God does not abandon us. He lets us experience the consequences, not to hurt us, but so that we learn from our mistakes. When you are a child, your parents tell you not to touch the hot stove. But did you listen? Probably not. I know I didn't. As soon as my Grandma's back was turned, I touched it. Big mistake. But who rescued me and ran water on it? The same one who told me not to touch it. Were they mad at me? No, they knew I was gonna touch it. And they knew I'd listen after I got burned. It's the same with divine consequences. Everyone is saved, eventually. Everyone is forgiven, eventually. But sometimes, you have to get burned to realize why you shouldn't touch hot things.

Just as my parents turned their backs to let me mess around and find out, God does the same when we reject what He told us. He looks away and lets us find out the hard way. But when we yelp in pain, He's right there to comfort us, because he never walked away and left us alone. He is always by our side. So, no matter what is going on in life, no matter what you've been through, you can ask God for help. He's waiting for you to realize you need comfort and guidance.
